Alter Bridge

Comprisig three-quarter of the original Creed's line-up, guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips, the Alternative-Rock band Alter Bridge formed in January of 2004 in Orlando Florida USA, they hooked up with singer Myles Kennedy and started to work on their debut album.

"One Day Remains" was released in August that same year on Wind-Up Records; it debuted at #5 on The Billboard Top 200 chart spawning two Mainstream Rock top 10 hits, the first single off of the CD, "Open Your Eyes", peaked at #2 and "Find The Real" reached the #7 spot.

In June 2007 Alter Bridge signed with Universal Republic Records who issued the band's second album, "Blackbird", in October. The CD includes the Hot Mainstream Rock top 5 smash "Rise Today".

Dream Theater

The progessive Hard-Rock band Dream Theater, was first formed in New York, USA, in September of 1985, when Berklee School of Music students guitarist John Petrucci, bassist John Myung and drummer Mike Portnoy decided to start a band together; originally known as Majesty, the fledgling act recruited singer Chris Collins and keyboardist Kevin Moore into the fold.

Collins left the band, before Dream Theater released its debut album, 1989's "When Dream And Day Unite", Charlie Dominici replaced him on vocals. But the label didn't have the funds to take them one step further with tour support or a video and the album failed to make any impact.
A year later, Dominici was fired from the group; in late 1991 Canadian vocalist Kevin James LaBrie joined to record the band's second LP, "Images And Words"; issued on Atco Records in the summer of 1992, the album broke into The Billboard Top 200 chart and reached its peak at #61; it spawned three Mainstream Rock top 30 hits including the #10 "Pull Me Under", "Another Day" and "Take The Time".
October 1994 saw the release of "Awake", which rose to #32 on The Billboard 200 becoming their highest-charting album, it contained only one Active Rock top 40 hit, "Lie"; after the album was finished Moore left the group to focus on his solo career.
The remainder of Dream Theater replaced him with keyboard player Derek Sherinian.
The group's next record, the 5-track EP "Change Of Seasons", issued in 1995, climbed the U.S. Billboard Top 200 chart hitting #58.
Two years later, the quintet unleashed their fourth studio-effort, "Falling Into Infinity" which reached the #52 position on The Billboard 200 Albums and yielded two Mainstream Rock top 40 singles: "Burning My Soul" and "You Not Me".
Soon after, Sherinian left to be replaced by Jordan Rudess, who had already played with Petrucci and Portnoy in a side-project.
In October 1999 Dream Theater released its fifth studio album, "Scenes From A Memory", which entered The Billboard Top 200 chart at #73.
Personnel changes, label turnover and the ill-timed release of 2001's "Live Scenes From New York", which arrived on September 11, 2001, with cover art featuring a New York skyline against a backdrop of flames, roiled the group but never truly deflected it from its musical path.
"Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence", a double-CD semi-concept album, was released in late January 2002, it peaked at #46 on The Billboard Top 200 list.
Over the course of 2003 John Petrucci released an eponymous-titled solo effort and "Train Of Thought" with the band; the group's seventh full-length album reached the #53 slot on the U.S. Top 200 chart producing the Metal-radio hit single "As I Am".
2005's "Octavarium" was not only the eighth studio album from Dream Theater, their first released on Atlantic Records, but it also marked 20 years of existence for this majestic outfit; it peaked at #34 on The Billboard 200.

Dream Theater's upcoming release "Systematic Chaos" will be released on Tuesday June 5, date may vary in different countries and will be available in two formats: regular edition 8-track CD and a special edition CD-DVD set, the DVD will include the entire album mixed in 5.1 surround sound as well as a 90-minute documentary directed by Mike Portnoy, "Chaos In Progress - The Making Of Systematic Chaos".

Audioslave

The Alternative-Rock Alternative-Metal supergroup Audioslave formed in Los Angeles, California USA, consisting of ex-frontman of Soundgarden, singer Chris Cornell and three-quarters of Rage Against The Machine, the wizard Tom Morello on guitar, Tim Commerford on bass and Brad Wilk on drums.

When Rage's frontman Zack de la Rocha departed in October of 2000 from his band, rumours began circulating that Cornell was going to replace De La Rocha. Gossip fueled truth, for Cornell joined the rest of Rage, in fact they worked for a year around the new project, but in mid-2002 Cornell abruptly quit, six weeks later he re-joined the band and before the album was recorded, they officially christened themselves Audioslave.
The band released their stunning self-titled debut album in November 2002 on Epic Records and followed it up with a supporting tour; the set reached the #7 on The Billboard Top 200, #6 in Canadian Albums list and #8 in Australia; it generated no less than five Billboard's Modern and Mainstream Rock hit singles including "Like A Stone" #1 on both the charts, "Cochise" #2 on Active Rock list, "Show Me How To Live" also hit #2 in the same chart and rose to #4 on The Modern Rock chart; "I Am The Highway" made top 3 on both the charts and "What You Are" cracked the top 10 of The Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
In May 2005 the quartet released their sophomore effort, "Out Of Exile", reaching the top of the North-American Albums charts; the first single, "Be Yourself", hit the top 40 of The Billboard Hot 100 and went straight to #1 on the Billboard's Rock airplay charts; the follow-up single, "Doesn't Remind Me", rose to #2 on The Mainstream Rock Tracks list and also hit the top 3 of The Modern Rock chart. The album yielded two more Modern Rock top 20 hits with the title-track and "Your Time Has Come".

Audioslave returned in September 2006 with "Revelations"; the highly anticipated new album includes the single "Original Fire".

Evanescence

The Alternative-Metal act Evanescence started out as a duo in Little Rock, Arkansas USA, in the late '90s, comprising vocalist+pianist Amy Lee and guitarist+songwriter Ben Moody.

The two recorded and released a couple of independent EPs and a full-length album, "Origin", that landed them a deal with Wind-Up Records.
Evanescence then expanded their line-up with the addition of second guitarist John LeCompt and drummer Rocky Gray; their debut full-length album, "Fallen", was finally released in March 2003, it rose to #3 on The Billboard Top 200 chart and topped both Canadian and British Albums Pop charts on the strenght of their masterpiece "Bring Me To Life", a single track, highlighted by a guest vocal from Paul McCoy of 12 Stones, which rose to #1 slot on The Modern Rock chart, crashed into the top 5 of The Billboard Hot 100 and became in a few months an international chart topper; it was followed by two more Modern Rock top 40 hit singles including the #5 "Going Under" and "Everybody's Fool"; the delicate ballad, "My Immortal", hit #7 on The Billboard Hot 100 and have helped the band's first album sell over 12 million copies worldwide. The band toured heavily behind the record and bass player William Boyd joined the band to complete the live line-up. At 46th annual Grammy ceremony Evanescence took home honors for Best New Artist and Best Hard Rock Performance for "Bring Me To Life".
In October 2003 Moody abruptly abandoned the group, in the midst of a European tour, he was replaced by guitarist Terry Balsamo, formerly of NuMetal outfit Cold.
In November 2004 was released the live set "Anywhere But Home", which included a new song and the cover of Korn's "Thoughtless", the record reached #39 on The Billboard Top 200 list.
But there were more roadblocks ahead: before a sophomore album could be finished, Balsamo suffered a stroke in 2005 and also Boyd left the fold to be teplaced by Tim McCord.

Evanescence released its second album in October 2006, "The Open Door" debuted at #1 on The Billboard Top 200 Albums chart on the back of the smash single "Call Me When You're Sober".

The Christian Alternative-Metal Rap-Metal act P.O.D., short for Payable On Death, was founded in San Ysidro, California USA, in 1992 by guitarist Marcos Curiel and drummer Noah 'Wuv' Bernardo, they soon recruited vocalist Paul 'Sonny' Sandoval and a few months later bassist Traa Daniels joined their ranks; the quartet began developing a core fan base drawn by their towering sound, an eclectic mix of Reggae, Latin-Metal, Hip-Hop and Punk.

Through their own efforts, all released through Rescue Records, the band garnered critical praise for the opening 1994's "Snuff The Punk" EP and also managed to move over 30,000 copies of their second indie release, "Brown".
With the hard work ethic, great fan base and amazing sound, Atlantic Records signed P.O.D. in 1998, that same year the group put out an EP entitled "The Warriors" which was followed a year later by the band's major-label debut full-length album, "The Fundamental Elements Of Southtown", it soared to #1 on both the Billboard's Top Heatseekers and Top Contemporary Christian Albums charts as well as Billboard Top 200 chart entry at #51; this album generated two minor hit singles, "Southtown" and "Rock The Party (Off The Hook)", that all reached the top 30 of The Modern Rock Tracks chart; they spent the best part of 2000 on the road, touring with the likes of Crazy Town and Staind.
In September 2001 P.O.D. issued its breakthrough effort, "Satellite"; the album peaked at #6 on The Billboard Top 200 chart and broke into the top 20 of the Official U.K. Pop chart; the first single off the CD, "Alive", hit #2 on The Modern Rock chart and #4 on The Mainstream Rock Tracks, it also reached #19 in Britain; the follow-up single, "Youth Of The Nation", found more success in America reaching the #28 position on The Billboard Hot 100 and hitting the top of The Modern Rock Tracks; the band's third album also featured "Boom" a further Modern Rock top 20 entrant and the title-track which peaked at #15 on the Billboard's Active Rock chart.
In February 2003 the band announced that founding member Marcos Curiel had amicably split; shortly thereafter, P.O.D. went into the studio with guitarist Jason Truby to record a new song for "The Matrix Reloaded" soundtrack, "Sleeping Awake" peaked at #14 on The Modern Rock chart and hit the top 20 of The Mainstream Rock Tracks confirming their broad-based audience appeal.
That same year, in November, the quartet released "Payable On Death", the album debuted at #9 on The Billboard 200 backed by the lead single, "Will You" which hit the #12 spots on both Modern and Mainstream Rock charts; the second single, "Change The World", scraped the bottom of the Billboard's Rock radio charts.
San Ysidro's finest hard rockers released their fourth full-length CD for Atlantic, "Testify", in January 2006; the album hit the top 10 of The Billboard 200 chart while the first single, "Goodbye For Now", peaked at #17 on The Mainstream Rock list and was followed by "Lights Out", a further Active Rock top 30 hit.
In November of the same year Rhino Records issued a greatest hits album, aptly titled "Greatest Hits The Atlantic Years", the first-ever compilation from the band spans 1999-2006 with 17 tracks plucked from their acclaimed Atlantic catalog including a previously unreleased song as well as one brand-new track, the Hot Mainstream Rock top 40 single "Going In Blind".

Reunited with founding guitarist Marcos Curiel, P.O.D. released their new album, their first for Columbia Records, "When Angels & Serpents Dance", in April 2008; it includes the Hot Mainstream Rock top 40 hit "Addicted".

Setelah meluncurkan album trilingual alias 3 bahasa (inggris, indonesia dan jepang) di album Slank The Big Hip hasil kolaborasi dengan band asal Jepang The Big Hip, tahun ini tepatnya tanggal 30 September 2008 Slank akan meluncurkan Album International/ English Album yang diberi judul Anthem For The Broken Hearted (hasil terjemahan dari Orkes Sakit Hati, salah satu lagu hits Slank).

Secara resmi album ini akan dirilis di Amerika tanggal 30 September ini dan sekarangpun sudah dapat dipesan terlebih dahulu via amazon.com seharga $14.98 dan diedarkan oleh label Megaforce dari New York. Album Anthem For The Broken Hearted merupakan salah satu hasil karya Slank dengan modal patungan seluruh keluarga Slank dalam rangka go international.

Menurut Bimbim,”Niat kita untuk membuat album internasional agar Slank bisa menyebarkan virus perdamaian ke seluruh dunia. Selain itu, biar dunia tahu, Indonesia itu bukan hanya identik dengan Bali, teroris. Tapi ada bagian kecilnya, yaitu Slank.” Slank juga ingin mengembalikan semangat ngeband mereka, “Kita ingin merasakan semangat seperti pertama kali ngeband. Ada perjuangannya. Seperti lagu Devil In You (Gara-gara Kamu), Too Sweet To Forget (Terlalu Manis), Charicature (Karikatur), terus lagu Virus dengan judul sama dengan lirik bahasa Inggris dan terakhir Anthem For The Broken Hearted (Orkes Sakit Hati) yang juga dijadikan judul album. Lagu baru antara lain berjudul Drug Me Up trus ada lagi Seen Things dan On Something, keseluruhan lagu di album ini masih terasa Slank dengan sentuhan international.

Creed

This Alternative-Rock band come together in 1995 in Tallahassee, Florida USA, when vocalist Scott Stapp teamed-up with guitarist Mark Tremonti; the pair began writing songs and playing music with bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips.

The foursome's debut, "My Own Prison", which arrived in early summer of 1997 on Wind-up Records, cracked The Billboard Top 200 Albums chart within a few months and eventually peaked at #22; it contained four Mainstream Rock top 3 hit singles including the #1 "What's This Life For", the title-track, "Torn" and "One".
Their second effort, "Human Clay", was released two years later; the record shot to #1 on The Billboard Top 200 Albums chart highlighted by their masterpiece, "Higher", the single enjoyed a 17 week run at #1 on The Modern Rock chart and reached the #7 slot on The Billboard Hot 100, the second single, "With Arms Wide Open", hit #1 on both Hot 100 and Mainstream Rock Tracks charts; two more singles followed: the Mainstream Rock top 5 hits "Are You Ready?" and "What If". The album went on to sell over ten million copies.
In June of 2000, Marshall blasted Pearl Jam in a radio interview and was quickly and publicly reprimanded by Stapp on the band's official WebSite, the bassist left Creed before the end of the summer term.
In late 2001, the group returned as a three-piece, with "Weathered" which immediately peaked at #1 in U.S. Top 200 Albums chart, its first single, "My Sacrifice", topped The Mainstream Rock chart and reached the #4 position on The Billboard Hot 100; the follow-up single "One Last Breath" hit the top 10 on both Billboard's Hot 100 and Mainstream Rock charts; the title-track was another smash single and weighed in at #7 on the Active Rock chart.

When Creed took a break, Mark Tremonti and Scott Phillips started to jam together again in 2003 and the following year, reunited with Brian Marshall formed Alter Bridge.

After nearly a decade together and over 30 million albums sold worldwide the members of Creed announced the break-up of the band in mid-2004.

In November 2005, Scott Stapp released his first solo album.

Puddle Of Mudd

Formed in 1993 in Kansas City, Missouri USA, the Alternative-Rock band Puddle Of Mudd was initially a fluid collective centered around lead singer+guitarist Wesley Reid Scantlin.

A year later the band released their first album, the hard-to-find "Stuck"; during the second half of the '90s a revamped line-up, Paul James Phillips on guitar, Douglas John Ardito who replaced former bassist Troy McCoy and drummer Greg David Upchurch, started recording new material and in 1999 released the second independent album entitled "Abrasive".
But the big break came when Scantlin and Fred Durst negotiated a recording contract with the Limp Bizkit frontman's own Flawless label. The year 2001 saw the release of Puddle Of Mudd breakthrough full-length disc, "Come Clean"; this album exploded like a bomb crashing into the top 10 of The Billboard Top 200 chart, the record spawned numerous monster hit singles, "Blurry" became the most played track on Modern Rock radio for 2002 and catapulted itself into top 5 of The Billboard Hot 100; "Control", "Drift And Die" and "She Hates Me" all grazed the top of The Mainstream Rock chart and also climbed into the top 3 of The Modern Rock Tracks. Touring throughout the summer promoting the album's release would see the band sharing stages with such Nu-Metal acts as Staind, Cold, Godsmack and Deftons.
Puddle Of Mudd returned two years later, in November 2003, with "Life On Display" which hit #20 on The Billboard 200 Albums chart and was certified gold, it never received the widespread acclaim of the triple-platinum "Come Clean"; however it included "Away From Me" which rose to #1 on The Mainstream Rock Tracks and to #5 on The Modern Rock chart; the second single, "Heel Over Head" rocketed into the top 10 on the same charts and the final single, "Spin You Around", climbed into the top 20 of the Billboard's Active Rock list.

Two years later drummer Greg Upchurch left to join 3 Doors Down and Phillips left after unsuccessfully trying to take the band's music in a much heavier direction; Ryan Yerdon replaced Upchurch and Christian Stone took over the vacant guitar spot. In October 2007, Puddle Of Mudd resurfaced with "Famous" reaching the #27 on The Billboard 200 Albums list. The opening title-track was selected as the first single off the CD, it peaked at #2 on The Hot Mainstream Rock chart but it was "Psycho" that earned the band yet another Modern and Mainstream #1 hit single.

Red Hot Chili Peppers

This Alternative-Rock Funk-Metal band was formed in Los Angeles, California USA, in 1983 with the original line-up of Hillel Slovack on guitar, Anthony Kiedes also on guitar, Flea real name Michael Balzary on bass and Jack Irons behind the drum kit.

In 1984, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, released their self-titled debut album and followed it up with "Freaky Styley" which came out on EMI Records one year later.
1987's "The Uplift Mofo Party Plan" marked their first charting album cracking The Billboard 200 that same year as a result of the buzz created by their explosive live performances.
After the release of "The Abbey Road EP", Slovack died of a heroin overdose on June 25, 1988; Irons subsequently left the group and the Peppers bolstered its line-up by recruiting John Frusciante on guitar and Chad Smith on drums.
In August of 1989 the band unleashed "Mother's Milk" which peaked at #52 on The Billboard 200 Albums chart and generated two Modern Rock hit singles: "Higher Ground" reached the #11 and "Knock Me Down" peaked at #6.
A year later, the group contributed the Modern Rock top 10 hit, "Show Me Your Soul", to the soundtrack of the film "Pretty Woman".
September 1991 saw the release of the Warner Brothers' stunning debut, "Blood Sugar Sex Magik", the record made them international Rock stars; in America, it rose to #3 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart, its single "Give It Away" peaked at #1 on The Modern Rock chart and won a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance; the second single, "Under The Bridge", became a transatlantic smash hit, in the U.S. peaked at #2 on both The Billboard's Hot 100 and Active Rock charts; "Suck My Kiss" followed reaching the #15 spot on The Modern Rock list and "Breaking The Girl" crashed into the top 20 on both Mainstream and Modern Rock Tracks charts.
After two albums, Frusciante left The Peppers in May of 1992; in September EMI America released a compilation titled "What Hits!?" which collected the best tracks from the group's first four albums plus a previously unreleased song, "Behind The Sun"; the track, released as a single, hit #7 on The Modern Rock chart and pushed the collection to #22 on the U.S. Albums chart as well.
The following year the band recorded the song "Soul To Squeeze" for the movie soundtrack "Coneheads", the single went straight to #1 on Modern Rock chart and ex-Jane's Addiction, Dave Navarro, joined as new lead guitarist.
In 1995 "One Hot Minute" peaked at #2 in Britain and at #4 on The Billboard 200 Albums chart but failed to match the commercial success of its predecessor; the main single, "My Friends", climbed to the top on both the Billboard's Rock charts, "Aeroplane" peaked at #8 on The Modern Rock Tracks list and "Warped" hit #7 in the same chart.
The band recorded in 1996 "Love Rollercoaster", a song for the soundtrack to the animated TV series "Beavis And Butt", the track hit #14 on Modern Rock chart.
By that point Navarro departed for a solo career and Frusciante returned re-energized for 1999's "Californication" which was a massive smash worldwide; the record rose to #3 slot on the U.S. Top 200 and to #5 on the U.K. Albums charts spawning a seemingly endless series of singles: "Scar Tissue" smashed into the top 10 of The Billboard Hot 100 and climbed to the #1 slots on both Modern and Mainstream Rock Tracks charts, also "Otherside" reached the top spots of the Billboard's Rock charts, the title-track hit #1 and #2 respectively on Modern and Mainstream Rock charts and "Around The World" climbed into the top 10 of The Modern Rock list.
The band's eighth studio effort, "By The Way", was released in the summer of 2002, going straight to #1 on the Top Canadian Albums and to #2 in the United States, highlighted by two #1s Modern Rock singles: "By The Way" and "Can't Stop"; the title-track also reached the top of the Active Rock chart; "The Zephyr Song" hit #6 on Modern Rock Tracks list and "Dosed" cracked the top 20 in the same chart; "By The Way" album eventually reached the #1 in Britain, in all Scandinavian countries, Germany, Italy and Australia.
The next year, the band, assembled the retrospective collection "Greatest Hits" which included two new songs; "Fortune Faded" debuted in the top 10 of The Modern Rock chart.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers, are back with the new double album, "Stadium Arcadium", the set features 28 new tracks including two Hot Modern Rock #1 hit singles "Dani California" and "Tell Me Baby".

Velvet Revolver

This Alternative-Rock project began life in 2002 in Los Angeles, California USA, when former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland teamed up with Guns N' Roses members, guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Matt Sorum plus guitarist Dave Kushner who rounded out the line-up.

Early in its evolution, the group released the song "Set Me Free" on 2003's "Hulk" soundtrack, the single peaked at #17 on The Mainstream Rock chart.
The band's debut full-length disc, "Contraband", was released in May 2004, this multi-platinum selling CD shot to #1 on both the U.S. and Canadian Albums charts while the single "Slither", rose to #1 on both Billboard's Modern and Mainstream Rock charts; it was also awarded a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance. "Fall To Pieces" became their second Active Rock chart-topper and hit the #2 slot on The Modern Rock Tracks chart; the final single, "Dirty Little Thing", became another fast-rising Mainstream Rock top 10 hit.
In July 2005, a new Velvet Revolver song, "Come On, Come In", was featured on the "Fantastic Four" soundtrack; the track peaked at #14 on The Mainstream Rock chart.

"Libertad", Velvet Revolver's new record which was released in July 2007, is a bold move forward from their blistering debut album. While keeping their feet solidly on the foundation of searing Hard-Rock, this album broadens the band's sound to new levels of creativity. The first single "She Builds Quick Machines" sets the tone with its menacing aggression.

Jet

This Rock quartet was formed in the second half of the '90s in Melbourne, AUSTRALIA, but took the name Jet in 2002. The band consist of guitarist+vocalist Nic Cester, his younger brother Chris on drums+vocals, Cameron Muncey on guitar+vocals and bass player Mark Wilson.

Their music is largely influenced by the heavy-Rock of AC/DC and American Classic-Rock; in 2002 the band released a 4-track EP titled "Dirty Sweet" on Rubber Records, a series of live performances followed, delivering a high butane set when the need arose; Jet was picked up by Elektra Records and soon after they scored a support slot on the Australian leg of The Rolling Stones world tour.
The band's debut full-length CD, "Get Born", finally appeared in November 2003, the set debuted at #1 on the Australian Albums chart, hit the top 20 in U.K. and reached #26 on The Billboard Top 200 chart spawning an endless string of successful singles: "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" hit #3 on The Modern Rock chart, peaked at #16 in Britain and reached #29 on The Billboard Hot 100; "Cold Hard Bitch" topped both Modern and Mainstream Rock lists, "Rollover D.J." made top 20 in the same charts, "Look What You've Done" rose to #7 on The Modern Rock chart and crossed over to the top 40 Sales charts in the States, Australia, U.K. and even Canada.

Jet returned in October 2006 with its sophomore album, "Shine On"; their new CD includes the single "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is".
